I have to be honest… I have no idea what I’m doing, so here it goes – my first blog post! I’m constantly searching for ways to be more efficient and intentional with my time, and bullet journaling has helped me become more productive, and it’s so much fun too! I have been scouring the internet for more and more ideas of bullet journaling! The traditional planners caused me major anxiety over finding the perfect one. There was always something missing or not quite right about the pre-printed planners I was using. It didn’t matter how perfect I thought it would fit my life. There was also the decision of getting one that started in January or one that started in August. I used the planners that started in August because it was always easier with the kids school schedule!
I came across the original bullet journal website, back in February of 2016, and found the perfect planner! If something wasn’t working for a daily, weekly or monthly layout, I could change it! Again, here’s where the efficiency part come in – I can put special lists, and schedules in there as well. I was a little nervous starting with a blank book, so I found some beautiful bullet journals on the internet. Kara Benz is the bomb with layouts! I used these as my guide (a.k.a. I copied everything, exactly the way Kara did it – all the way down to counting the dots!) I also follow Jessica Chung and love her layouts and the travel planner she uses!
I’ve been using the bullet journal since March and love it! I’m hoping this first blog post will lead me to meet people and create a community where people can come to get creative, organizing and planning ideas. I’m looking forward to getting to know each one of you! I also love learning new hand lettering styles and bullet journals give me an avenue to use different ones. I’m starting to step outside the box a little and want to experiment with some ideas that I haven’t seen out there yet.
My goal is to help busy women (or men) become creatively more efficient and intentional with their time in order to live happier, healthier and more balanced lives. I’ve never done a blog before, so posting pictures, and videos may be a challenge; so if you could, please pardon my mess as I get started– . I will have Instagram, Pinterest and FaceBook accounts fully set up. I wanted to post this now, because I tend to procrastinate, and I would use all of the above excuses – so perfection to the wind, here goes my first blog post!
